The Seattle team will be working with Roots Church, a Southern Baptist Church in Seattle, Washington.
The students will be helping minister to the Roosevelt neighborhood where the church is located, witnessing on the local transit system and in nearby parks, and spending time ministering in local shelters for women and children. This trip is for students who are truly wanting to live out the command to give the gospel to the lost. Seattle is a very “progressive” city that can be a challenge to young people intent on speaking out for Christ. We would love to take students who are bold and have a desire to be a witness for Christ publicly.
Students will be challenged to step outside of their comfort zones, engage people from a variety of backgrounds, and demonstrate Christ’s love through both their words and actions. This trip will provide a unique opportunity to grow in courage, compassion, and dependence on the Lord while learning how to faithfully share the Gospel in a culture that may not always be receptive to the message of Christ.
